left-hander batters had only eight homers against lefty Antworten

NHL on TSN host James Duthie was joined in Calgary by Taylor Hall, Patrick Sharp, and Milan Lucic for a special Olympic Camp edition of The Quiz. Give us your own responses in the Your! Call section below. There were five No. 1 picks on the floor at this camp. Who would go number one in a ball hockey draft? Rick Nash (2002), Sidney Crosby (2005), Steven Stamkos (2008), John Tavares (2009), or Taylor Hall (2010)? Or you can go off the board. Lets start with Milan. Milan Lucic: Im going to go with Johnny T. John Tavares...just because of his hands, you saw at the last All-Star Game what he did in the (skills) competition. Hes got that lacrosse background in the family with his uncle, so Im going to have to go with him. Patrick Sharp: You cant go wrong with any of these guys. Playing with Crosby the last couple days he was pretty good, but Ive got to take Stammer. He was definitely running the fastest and working the hardest out there so Ive got to take Steven Stamkos. James Duthie: Taylor, youre sitting right here and they gave you no love whatsoever. Taylor Hall: I saw that coming. Ill go with Sid, I think his skills will translate pretty well to the floor. I know you guys will answer Canada for gold, so who will win silver in Sochi: Finland, Russia, Sweden, or USA? Hall: I think Russia will use the crowd to its advantage and I think theyll pull through. Sharp: I guess I will change my answer and go with Team USA. They had a young team in the last Olympics, they have some good skaters over there and they want to build off what they did last time. Lucic: I say Sweden just because they won (in Torino) in 2006 and they won the last World Championship...and they look good again. Who is your favourite Team Canada candidate from Thunder Bay, Ontario: Eric Staal, Jordan Staal, Marc Staal, or some guy named Patrick Sharp? Lucic: Im going to say Patrick Sharp, just because of what he did to us in the Final, so hes a clutch player. Sharp: Well, I thought maybe Jared Staal might be on there instead of Patrick Sharp, but Im going to say myself just because I have to give myself some love here. Hall: Im going to go with Eric Staal. Hes a great player, I played with him at the Worlds this year and hes a returning guy. Which member of the host Russians promises to be your toughest individual adversary: Pavel Datsyuk, Ilya Kovalchuk, Evgeni Malkin, or Alex Ovechkin? Hall: Ill go with Ovie. I think hell be raring to go, he just won the Hart Trophy this year, and Ill think hell do well in front of his home crowd too. Sharp: Ive got Datsyuk. Being on the Blackhawks weve played the Red Wings quite a bit over the years and Datsyuk has incredible skill, ability, and he plays a 200-foot game. Lucic: Im going to say Malkin just because Ive played against him a lot, and in the playoffs this year and hes a big strong skating puck-possession guy. I think him on the big ice is going to be fun to watch for the fans. All right, final question and pay attention. During your orientation meetings this week, they wanted to familiarize yourselves with Sochi and Russia, so were going to find out if you were paying close attention. Which one of these countries is closest to Sochi: Armenia, Ukraine, Georgia, or Turkey? Lucic: Was it Turkey? Duthie: I cannot tell you yet...well go on to Patrick. Sharp: I was going to say Turkey, but Ill have to go with Georgia. Hall: Im pretty sure it was Georgia. Duthie: The answer is Georgia. Congratulations you two - but I have bad news for Milan. This was a big part of the evaluation and by getting it wrong you are no longer eligible for Team Canada...so best of luck in 2018 and thanks for participating in The Quiz from the NHL on TSN. Dustin Brown Jersey . Both of Padakins goals came in the second period while Zane Jones added a single in the first period for Calgary (13-6-4). Hitmen goaltender Chris Driedger finished with 30 saves for the shutout. Wayne Gretzky Jersey . Its been a successful Games for Canada, which will finish near the top of the medal standings again. From repeat gold medal winners to multiple medal winners to undefeated teams to acts that define the Olympic spirit, there are many solid candidates who could be considered to receive the honour. http://www.authenticlakingspro.com/Rob-blake-kings-jersey/ . LOUIS - Matt Adams could barely contain his enthusiasm and he didnt really try, either. He thrust both arms in the air while still in the batters box and added a couple of big hops to his home run trot as he approached first base.A stunned Clayton Kershaw, bent over at the waist with his hands on his knees, watched from the mound as the long drive off Big Citys bat propelled St. Louis to a fourth straight NL Championship Series. Some people are calling it the Big City Leap, Adams said. I was just super-excited, I didnt know what I was doing ... I knew I was jumping for joy.The Cardinals tagged Kershaw in the seventh inning for the second straight time, riding Adams go-ahead, three-run homer to a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday for a 3-1 win in the best-of-five Division Series.I dont think I touched the ground the whole way around the bases, Adams said. Definitely the highlight of my career. ... I will never, ever forget this.Neither will Kershaw. The Cardinals sent the Dodgers home for the second post-season in a row with a win over Kershaw. He has lost four straight starts to St. Louis over the past two postseasons.Ive had success against them, too, Kershaw said. It just seems like one inning gets me every time. And obviously thats not success. While the steady Cardinals advanced to their ninth NLCS in 15 years, the defeat was a huge disappointment for the NL West champion Dodgers, who finished the regular season with a $256 million payroll that was $40 million higher than any other team.Los Angeles remains without a pennant since winning the 1988 World Series. Its awful, catcher A.J. Ellis said. Its devastating. It just kind of rehashes those old memories.Manager Don Mattingly wasnt about to second-guess leaving Kershaw in the game, especially with a bullpen thats foundered. He wanted the leftty to get three more outs.ddddddddddddIt goes back to the same question: Is there anybody better, even on short rest, and even where he was at that point? Mattingly said.Kershaw started on three days rest for the second time in his post-season career. He was dominant into the seventh, as he was in Game 1, but again started the inning with three straight hits. The third hit Tuesday came when Adams, the burly bopper know as Big City, drove a curveball on Kershaws 102nd pitch into the right-centre bullpen to put St. Louis up 3-2.I had a pretty good idea that it was gone, Adams said. The red-clad crowd roared and twirled white towels as Kershaw made a slow slog back to the Dodgers dugout.Kershaw allowed one homer to left-handed batters while going 21-3 with a 1.77 ERA in the regular season. The rookie lefty got Adrian Gonzalez on a groundout to end the seventh and strand two runners.Pat Neshek worked a perfect eighth for the second straight game and Rosenthal pitched the ninth for a second straight day, receiving two visits to the mound from catcher Yadier Molina and one from the pitching coach after a shaky start to the inning.Kershaw had yielded only one hit through six innings and struck out nine, including three in a row in the sixth. But Matt Holliday opened the seventh with a sharp single up the middle off second baseman Dee Gordons glove, and Jhonny Peralta lined another single before Adams homered off a left-hander for the first time since July 7.The Cardinals had an NL-low 105 homers this season and left-hander batters had only eight homers against lefty pitching. But lefties hit five off Dodgers southpaws in four playoff games.Miller matched Kershaw into the sixth, when the Dodgers started the inning with two hits.
